Sodexo Corporate Services is seeking an Executive Chef 1 to join our team at our high-profile account STIHL in Virginia Beach VA! The current food landscape at this location consist of a Corporate Cafe that serves BLD, Micro-Market, Catering Operations, and Vending.


The Executive Chef 1 will be the lead culinary person and will be responsible for ensuring quality and presentation of offerings. Provides culinary leadership within a small sized unit.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.  Other duties include but not limited to:

  • Executes the culinary function, 85% to 90% hands on in the kitchen
  • Customer & Client satisfaction
  • Manages food & physical safety program
  • Managing Financials
  • Weekly Inventory
  • Prime vendor weekly ordering
  • Managing a team of 6 hourly employees (4 cooks, 1 cashier, and 1 utility worker)
  • Catering-strong focus on creativity


The ideal Executive Chef 1 must be hands on preparing food, be able to manage food cost and labor costs as well as understand and be able to make business decisions that allow the unit to meet goals. Have ability to forecast business and manage accordingly as we will be ramping back up the operation from Covid.


This position offers a traditional Business and Industry, predominantly Monday through Friday, schedule. Accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation per year (first year pro-rated based on date of hire).  Medical Benefits beginning date of hire, and 401K with company match eligible.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experienceBasic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
