Job Type: Full Time/On-Site

Job Location: New Castle, DE

Nice to meet you, we’re TruVolt Brands – a global portfolio of brands dominating the lawn and garden equipment and electronic bike sectors under the Snow Joe, Sun Joe, Aqua Joe, Auto Joe, and Jetson Bikes brands.

We’re looking to add to our team of experts who care deeply about our customers and our company.

Our people have powered TruVolt’s mission: to disrupt historically gas-driven market sectors with top-quality, reliable, and easy-to-use innovations that are both affordable and eco-conscious, and to deliver these solutions to our customers with prime-like speed.  Our team is passionate, driven, collaborative, intellectually curious, and excited about the opportunity to transform our respective industries.  We strive to continuously learn, explore, experiment, and achieve results.

This position will be required to work out of our New Castle, DE warehouse; this is not a remote role.

 Job Summary

The Facilities Manager will have full ownership of the warehouse facility's operations, overseeing janitorial services, building maintenance, and equipment maintenance. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You'll build processes from the ground up, lead a team, negotiate with vendors, roll up your sleeves for repairs, and ensure our facility supports uninterrupted operations and rapid scaling.

This position is perfect for a mechanically inclined leader who thrives in startup chaos, loves solving problems, and can turn reactive maintenance into proactive, world-class systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance technicians, janitorial staff, and contractors; foster a strong safety-first culture and high-performance team environment.
  • Oversee all building maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, doors, dock equipment, roofing, and structural integrity of a large warehouse facility.
  • Manage equipment maintenance programs for material handling equipment (forklifts, conveyors, pallet jacks, racking systems, automated systems, etc.), including preventive maintenance schedules, repairs, and vendor coordination to minimize downtime.
  • Direct daily janitorial and cleanliness operations to maintain a safe, organized, and compliant warehouse environment (including waste management, floor care, and pest control).
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve standard processes, routines, checklists, and preventive maintenance programs tailored to a high-growth warehouse.
  • Be hands-on: troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues, perform repairs, and jump in during peak times or emergencies.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to achieve cost-effective, high-quality service.
  • Manage facility budgets, track expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, fire safety, environmental regulations, and company safety standards; conduct regular audits, training, and inspections.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance needs (including after-hours/on-call rotation) and coordinate emergency repairs.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, safety, and leadership teams to support scaling plans, expansions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or equipment maintenance — preferably in a large warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Proven strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment, building systems, and material handling machinery.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing processes, preventive maintenance programs, and operational routines from scratch or in a scaling environment.
  • Experience leading and developing teams (direct supervision of technicians, janitorial staff, or contractors).
  • Strong negotiation skills with proven ability to secure favorable pricing and terms with vendors/contractors.
  • Excellent communication skills — clear, professional, and effective with team members, vendors, and senior leadership.
  • High detail orientation combined with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
  • Ability to be hands-on — comfortable using tools, climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in a warehouse setting.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA), building codes, and warehouse best practices.
  • Proficiency with maintenance management software, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and basic budgeting tools is a plus.
  • Preferred: Certification in facilities management (e.g., CFM), mechanical/electrical trade, or relevant technical training.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Opportunity to shape facilities operations in a high-growth startup
  • The chance to make a visible impact as we scale rapidly

If you're a proactive, mechanically talented leader who loves building systems, leading people, and keeping a large warehouse humming in a startup environment — we want to hear from you!
