Join Our Team as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Make a Lasting Impact on Patient Care
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality care within an inpatient psychiatric unit. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work intermittently on weekends over a forecasted one-year period, supporting patients ranging from age 10 to the elderly, with the majority being adults. If you are passionate about mental health and possess the required skills, this is an excellent chance to contribute meaningfully while advancing your professional journey.
Required Skills
- Board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) with valid licensure to practice independently in Massachusetts
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience, especially in mental health or inpatient settings
- Ability to work intermittent weekends (Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Proficiency in CPI training (Crisis Prevention and Intervention)
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment
Nice to Have Skills
- Previous experience in psychiatric or inpatient mental health care
- Bilingual abilities or multilingual proficiency
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Additional certifications in mental health or crisis intervention
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- At least 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, preferably in mental health or inpatient care
Other Requirements
- Valid CPR certification
- Flexibility to work intermittent weekends as scheduled
- Reliable transportation for site coverage needs
- Commitment to maintaining licensure, certifications, and ongoing education
