Whiteline Express is seeking a highly skilled and dependable Field Service - Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role involves traveling to customer locations to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of diesel trucks, trailers, and equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive work assignments and customer schedules from the General Manager.
  • Perform scheduled and on-demand maintenance, repairs, and diagnostic services on diesel trucks, trailers, and equipment.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding job progress, estimated completion times, and service details.
  • Provide timely updates to the General Manager regarding job status and any changes to the schedule.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service truck at all times.
  • Stock and manage daily inventory, tools, and all required documentation in the service truck (candidate must supply their own tools).
  • Operate the service vehicle safely and in full compliance with traffic laws and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in diesel truck and trailer maintenance, repair, and diagnostics.
  • DOT Inspection Certification and Air Brake Certification required.
  • Must be capable of supplying and maintaining a sufficient inventory of personal tools needed to perform all job duties.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required.
  • Proven ability to interact directly with customers in a professional and service-oriented manner.
  • Comfortable working independently on all makes, models, and types of diesel vehicles and repairs.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift 50+ lbs., and work in varied weather and temperature conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage tasks efficiently in a mobile environment.
