Control Gaging, Inc. is a global leader in measurement and process control for the machining industry. We design and manufacture in-process gages that provide closed-loop feedback to machine controls based on real-time part measurement. Our product lines include gages for ID, OD, disc, and centerless grinders. turning machines, polishing/superfinishing machines, and other machining processes where finished size is critical. Control Gaging also produces gage systems that can be integrated into material handling systems so that parts can be measured while being transported. This eliminates the need for separate gauging operations.
Control Gaging supplies the automotive, heavy truck, construction vehicle, bearing, motorcycle, electric aerospace industries.
We are recruiting for a Field Service Engineer. This position installs, repairs, and provides training on our measurement systems. As a Field Service Engineer, you will travel to new places, meet new people and learn new skills. Control Gaging's Field Service Engineers work closely with our engineering and R&D departments to continually improve products and create new solutions for our diverse customer base.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to customers via telephone and e-mail
- Install equipment at the customer’s facility; this is to include operator training and capability study if required.
- Perform on-site repair and technical support at the customer's facility
- Provide both operator and repair training to customer
- Write detailed reports after each service visit
- Assist other departments at CGI as needed; i.e. Customer Service, Mechanical and Electrical
- Other duties as assigned
- 80% travel required, both internationally and domestically, Monday through Friday
- Includes company paid-room, rental car, air-fare, and meal peridium
- Must maintain Valid Driver’s License

Education And/or Experience:
The candidate must have completed at minimum a 2-year Associates program or AAS from an accredited college or technical school. The following is a list of preferred degree programs: Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Controls Technology, Robotics, and/or Automated Manufacturing. Other degrees or experiences will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Individuals must be able to comprehend various manual as well as electrical and hydraulic schematics. Must have the ability to communicate with customers articulately and professionally.
Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, as well as the ability to apply basic algebra and geometry.
Individuals must have the ability to quickly solve problems with numerous variables, and little or no assistance. Also, one must be able to comprehend complex machine control diagrams and process goals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to sit for extended periods while performing tasks on a computer.
