Field Service Technician

Field Service Technicians are responsible for routine service, installation, and maintenance of JEOL products such as Electron Microscopes, Scanning Probe Microscopes, Ion Beam Microscopes and Electron Beam lithography instrumentation. You will represent JEOL at customer locations and works primarily with scientists and related personnel to diagnose and repair products within the assigned service territory.

Essential Functions:

  • Independently diagnose and repair electron microscopes within the territory
  • Systematically analyze the source of problems affecting customer’s instrumentation
  • Resolve problems with affected instrument, or prepare a report of findings and recommendations
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, supervisors to ensure customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s degree in an appropriate area of engineering and/or science, plus a minimum of 6 months related experience
  • Solid electromechanical understanding and troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply analog and digital electronics
  • A valid license, passport, and up to 30% overnight travel is anticipated
  • Excellent customer service skills
