We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Finance Manager to join our Accounting and Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to bring their expertise to a growing organization and contribute to our continued success. The Finance Manager will play a critical role in strategic decision making and operations as we continue to enhance our quality programming and build capacity. This is a tremendous opportunity for a finance leader to maximize and strengthen the internal capacity of a well-respected, high-impact organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and lead the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the senior leadership team; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
  • Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the program vice presidents; continuously collaborate with program vice presidents to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.
  • Lead the organization's financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the grant accounting to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with grantor's requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role, demonstrating progressive responsibility and growth.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, month-end close, grant accounting, and annual budget planning.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, laws, standards, and state/national regulations, along with a proven track record of working with complex budgets.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and guide team members, ensuring efficiency, meeting of deadlines, and adherence to the company's accounting standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • CPA designation is an asset.
  • Experience in a non-profit organization is a plus.
