Description: Our Food Manufacturing client is currently seeking a Financial Controller in the Belmont, NC area

    MANUFACTURING FINANCIAL CONTROLLER:

    The Financial Controller will oversee all accounting functions and financial activities of the company. As head of the accounting department, the controller will manage and supervise all aspects of the accounting department from payroll to tax compliant for outsource tax preparation. This position will assist with the development of internal control policies, procedures and financial planning as needed. Routinely, works closely with outside CPA to facilitate and execute required practices, reporting and reconciliations.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Manage aspects of accounting, financial statements, general ledger, accounts payables, accounts receivables, budgeting, payroll tax compliance, cost accounting, and revenue recognition

    · Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for billing, collections, and payroll

    · Maintain and manage documented system of accounting policies and operations

    · Process accounts and collection payments

    · Monitor cash and funding balances

    · Perform monthly closings and prepare monthly/ annual financial reports

    · Manage monthly/ annual financial budget and forecasts

    · Advise on financial analysis and decision-making regarding capital investments, pricing, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters with management and CPA

    · Organize information and statements for external CPA

    · Complying with local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.

    · Review inventory variances in a Material Requirements Planning environment

    · Additional controller duties as needed


    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    · Strong leadership skills with a dedication to achieving results

    · Working Knowledge of MRP/ ERP systems

    · Manufacturing controller experience

    · Leadership, Visioning, Multitasking and Time Management skills

    · Confident, Self-Starter with Attention to Detail

    · Knowledge of employee relationships building and performance management techniques

    · Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting or related field

    · Ideal candidate has at least 5- 10 years’ experience as an accountant, accounting supervisor, or manager

    · Excellent computer skills, experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite

    · Proficient with accounting software and experience with a software system implementation

    · Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and costs control principles and Generally Accepted Principles (GAAP)

    · Excellent written and verbal communications skills

    · Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
