The Role


In the Financial Services space, we know that it is not always easy to stand out in the crowd, but at Lumen we have a dedicated team committed to helping our customers do just that.  We have a platform of amazing things that include Edge, SD-WAN, SASE, Security, and Service from Anywhere.  Our Financial Services and Account Based Marketing Manager will be the author of the Customer Engagement strategy while leveraging Account Based Marketing.  This strategy should include; strategic partnerships, account planning, data, messaging content, digital, social, events, executive alignment, intimacy, sponsorships, and other tactics that will resonate with customers.

The Main Responsibilities


What you do: 


  • Analyzes data, assesses market trends, engages with subject matter experts, conducts literature review, prepares reports to develop segmentation, targeting, positioning, and recommend the marketing mix.
  • Translates business needs into actionable sales and marketing programs. Identify areas of unaddressed market opportunity and propose innovative solutions and campaigns to capture the opportunity working with the solutions team to develop.
  • Develops marketing messaging and materials for Financial Services campaigns that are consistent with the company and brand positioning and aligned to target personas and segments working with 3rd party resources and internal teams to execute
  • Support sales, marketing, and product stakeholders as a vertical marketing subject matter expert through workshops, public appearances, account planning, and publishing.
  • Interface with field marketing & team regularly to ensure tools, initiatives, and best practices are adopted in regions and leads are followed up on.
  • Collaborate with Segment Strategy, Solution Marketing, Marketing Operations, and Corporate Marketing to develop demand generation strategies targeting key customer segments in alignment with sales feedback, new product releases, and market opportunities
  • Employs a disciplined approach to lead management and program performance, aligning lead management process to campaign strategies and partnering with inside sales (where appropriate) to enable effective disposition and nurturing of leads
  • Partners with marketing operations teams to measure /analyze solution and program performance and to optimize programs as needed on an ongoing basis.

What We Look For in a Candidate




  • Bachelor degree (equivalent experience) with 8+ years of experience in marketing with at least 5 years in Financial Services  
  • Influencing and strong interpersonal skills are needed to facilitate C-Suite presentations and conversations.
  • Passion and experience in the tech landscape (Cloud, Edge, Security, SASE, etc)
  • Thrives in a culture of exponential change and is a change maker.
  • Customer-centric skills in customer journey mapping, outcome-based messaging, and sense making
  • Experience with agency and budget management. 
  • Ability to analyze information, ask questions, and gain insights that lead to strategic answers. 
  • Results-Oriented leader with prior successful experience in a dynamic, highly matrixed corporate environment, who is detail-oriented and has a strong focus on delivery milestones.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
