Our Material Handling Group seeks a full-time Forklift Field Service Technician for our Romulus, MI branch. This first-shift, hourly position includes a company service van (driven home), fuel card, and uniforms.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose/repair customer forklifts and equipment
- Complete repairs efficiently and professionally while providing exceptional customer service
- Manage workload independently, handle required paperwork, and oversee company vehicle and parts inventory
- Incorporate company principles into daily activities and participate in paid training to enhance skills
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
Qualifications:
- At least two years of forklift repair experience; military experience with relevant MOS/NEC codes preferred
- Strong knowledge of electric and liquid propane units, mechanical aptitude, and own tools
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and computer skills with specific software
- Intermediate reading, writing, and speaking skills; basic math; and problem-solving abilities
Physical and work environment:
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands; frequently talk/hear; occasionally sit, climb, stoop, kneel, or crawl
- Lift up to 10 pounds regularly, 11-25 pounds frequently, and over 26 pounds occasionally
- Work near moving parts, in outdoor weather, and occasionally in wet, humid, or extreme conditions with electrical and mechanical hazards
