This senior operational role involves operating high-capacity equipment and yard trucks to ensure safe, efficient movement of heavy lift and over-dimensional cargo in marine and port environments.
- Operate PITs (55,000 lbs+), forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, reach stackers, and ship loaders safely.
- Handle heavy loads exceeding equipment capacity, including stacking and positioning cargo with precision.
- Operate machinery on vessels, barges, docks, and yards, following safety protocols.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings, traffic, and hazards, requesting assistance when needed.
- Adhere to safety standards, including unattended machinery procedures.
Qualifications include high school diploma, 3+ years of equipment operation experience, valid driver’s license, TWIC card, and strong communication skills. Physical requirements involve working outdoors in various conditions, lifting up to 55 lbs, and performing dexterous tasks. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is essential.
