Position Overview:

The University of Michigan Health System is seeking a Front Office Customer Service Representative to join our team in Ann Arbor, MI. This onsite role plays a critical part in creating a welcoming and efficient front-office experience for patients, visitors, and staff. We are seeking administrative professionals with strong organizational and communication skills. Prior insurance or scheduling experience is preferred. MiChart experience is a plus but not required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer incoming calls and direct them appropriately
  • Greet and assist patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Facilitate patient check-in and prepare rooms for appointments
  • Sanitize and reset rooms after patient use
  • Provide support in responding to call lights and patient needs
  • Deliver general administrative support to department staff
  • Monitor patient flow using the MiChart scheduling system
  • Collaborate with team members and management at all levels
  • Perform accurate data entry
  • Assist with call center functions as needed
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times

Requirements:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or call center setting is a plus
  • Knowledge of the MiChart scheduling system is advantageous
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Must comply with immunization requirements (see below)

Immunization Requirements (documentation required prior to hire):
  1. MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  2. Varicella (Chickenpox)
  3. Hepatitis B
  4. Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
  5. TB - Negative skin test within the last 2 months
