Scope:
- The General Assembler II supports the manufacturing process by assembling, inspecting, and testing products to meet quality and production standards. This role involves working independently or in teams to perform a variety of assembly tasks, maintain equipment and documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement across production operations.
Job Summary:
Performs more complex assembly operations with limited supervision.
Ensure line clearance is completed, labels are verified for accuracy, and the work order DHR is thoroughly reviewed.
Conducts minor adjustments, changeovers, or testing of assemblies.
May train or assist new assemblers (Level 1).
Ensures quality control compliance and proper documentation.
Typically needs 2-4 years of experience in assembly or related field.
Understands basic troubleshooting and equipment setup.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Solid understanding of medical device assembly processes, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in using hand tools, fixtures, and basic machinery for precise assembly work.
- Ability to accurately interpret work instructions, diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Capable of working independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Work Environment:
- Operates in a controlled manufacturing or cleanroom environment adhering to strict quality and regulatory standards.
- Requires prolonged standing, precise manual tasks, and handling of small components or light equipment.
- Compliance with PPE requirements, safety protocols, and cleanroom procedures is essential.
- Fast-paced, collaborative environment emphasizing efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Experience:
- 2-4 years of assembly or manufacturing experience, preferably in a regulated or medical device environment.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or vocational training in manufacturing is preferred.
