General Laborer

Position Overview

Southeastern Site Development, Inc. is seeking motivated General Laborers for heavy civil infrastructure and roadway projects throughout the Columbus District of Georgia. This position works alongside skilled tradesmen and equipment operators on DOT and public infrastructure projects including roadway construction, grading, underground utilities, drainage systems, culverts and other site development activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general labor duties to support heavy civil construction and earthwork operations
• Assist equipment operators with excavation, backfill, and site preparation
• Hand dig, shovel, rake, and trim as directed
• Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment
• Prepare, maintain, and clean work areas, including excavation and pour sites
• Assist with concrete placement, finishing, and curing
• Support installation of erosion control measures and temporary traffic control
• Assist with utility installation, backfill, and compaction
• Follow directions from foremen and supervisors
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite

Required Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical labor in a heavy civil construction environment
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on uneven terrain
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a crew

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in earthwork, excavation, or roadway construction
• Willing to offer on the job training
• Familiarity with hand tools and basic construction equipment
