The Head of Strategic Investmentsis responsible for identifying, developing and managing strategic partnerships, joint ventures and minority investments for Company Corporation as well as advising the company on opportunities and challenges created by disruptive technologies and other innovation that may impact Company or its clients.

The Strategic Investments function is focused on developing new avenues for growth for STT by identifying strategic partnerships that drive commercial value, add new capabilities, and provide economic benefit to Company

What you will be responsible for

As Global Head of Strategic Investments you will

  • Strategic partnerships: identify, evaluate and develop potential long-term business partnerships where we take an equity stake, that have the potential to drive commercial value to Company and its clients, and accelerate our strategy
  • Relationship management: In conjunction with other senior leaders, manage and monitor STT 's strategic partnerships and investments to ensure we are maximizing the business and financial outcomes, and maintain a long-term approach, including identifying end-games
  • Innovation & disruption: proactively identify, assess and explore disruptive technologies and other industry changes that create opportunities or risks for Company or our clients
  • FinTech Ecosystem: source and cultivate relationships with major players in the FinTech ecosystem, and ensure Company stays 'in the flow ' of recent FinTech developments
  • Team: be a senior leader within the Global Strategy team to attract, motivate and develop high performing individuals; develop lasting relationships with senior leaders in Strategy, M&A, and throughout our organization
  • Strategic Counselor: Regularly report on potential disruptive changes, new technologies, and potential partnerships to senior management '" both as opportunities and threats to our business

Education & Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and track record of success:

  • Significant deal experience and active management of joint ventures or other partial ownership vehicles (ideally in the context of a bank)
  • Deal and Project Management involving cross-functional teams to proactively identify and advise on opportunities for Company and our clients
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships across the FinTech landscape
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization and build strong relationships with team members, managers, and senior executives in multiple locations
  • Management of a portfolio of private FinTech investments
  • Deep interest in, and understanding for, technology and disruptive change
  • Strong experience in Financial Services, with over 10+ years of experience
  • Track record of attracting and motivating top talent
  • Strong analytical capabilities, the ability to work independently and comfort with ambiguity are important attributes of the position. Also, the ability to work as part of a team spanning central and within business unit resources will be essential to the role 's success
  • Operated at a senior level in managing JVs, partnerships or private equity/ venture capital in the Financial Services space
  • Proven experience developing & maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders, and senior C-suite executives
  • Strong work-ethic with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • BA/ BS or equivalent degree, preferably with a financial or business discipline (MBA or equivalent preferred)
