Nature of Work: This position involves semi-skilled manual and skilled equipment operation
work in golf course maintenance. Responsible for watering greens, and tees; maintains sand
traps; and changes cups on greens and tee markers. Mows turf with sophisticated golf
maintenance equipment and picks up debris, leaves, and broken tree limbs. Performs related
work as required. Reports to permanent golf course green keepers. May exert up to 50 lbs of
force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs of force
constantly to move objects.

Starting Hourly Rate: $10.13

Required Qualifications: Ability to perform heavy manual labor, and follow oral and written
instructions without close supervision. Skill in the use of hand and mechanical tools and
equipment. Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
The City offers CPR/AED and First Aid classes, which are free to Parks employees.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of the proper use and operation of equipment used in
golf course maintenance. Graduation from a senior high school, and some experience in
grounds keeping; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
