Golf Course Maintenance

Maintains golf course and related golf equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Operates mowers and string trimmers in trimming greens, aprons, tees, around trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides; edges cart paths; edges, rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
• Sets tee markers and cups on greens daily; maintains ball washers; replaces tee towels and flags when needed; removes debris; sands and seeds tee and drop area divots; and cleans flowerbeds.
• Maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis; reports equipment problems or failure to the equipment manager immediately.
• Returns all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility; and cleans the maintenance areas.
• Waters and fertilizes tees, greens and fairways, and sprays chemicals on landscaped areas.
• Moves cart control barriers and replaces worn or lost ropes and signs; and may mark hazard and drop areas.
• Helps in project work; assists in the construction of new greens, tees and fairways; grades and prepares soil base; lays sod; and seeds tees, greens and fairways.
• Installs forms and lays walks and paths using gravel and asphalt mixes; excavates and backfills ditches and trenches with hand tools; repairs and replaces pipe on irrigation systems when needed.
• May be asked to operate mowers, dump trucks or other light equipment.
• Required to be in proper uniform as designated and be at scheduled station at the scheduled time.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Knowledge of methods and materials used in grounds and landscape area construction/maintenance work.

Certification and/or License Requirement:

• None

Skills:

Must be able to commit to hours of operation and understand that hours will fluctuate due to tournaments and special projects. Position requires a highly professional demeanor with members, guests and staff, adaptability, flexibility and adherence to a strict level of confidentiality. Requires ability to read, speak, and comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions.

Working Conditions:

Requires working in an outdoor environment with fluctuating temperatures. Require working in an outdoor environment with rugged, uneven terrain. Requires ability to visually observe the condition of surroundings.

Physical/Cognitive Activities:

Requires working in an outdoor environment with fluctuating temperatures. Require working in an outdoor environment with rugged, uneven terrain. Requires ability to visually observe the condition of surroundings. Requires ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time. Requires ability to stoop, bend, reach, lift and carry up to 50lbs. Requires ability to safely operate equipment both mechanical and manual tools.
