Position Description

Job Summary:

The Grinder Operator is responsible for performing cutting, drilling, and sawing of concrete on highways, roads, commercial buildings, and other structures. This role involves hands-on work at construction sites, requiring physical stamina and adherence to safety regulations. The Technician plays a critical role in preparing and maintaining job sites, ensuring efficient project execution, and supporting demolition activities.




Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate specialized equipment to cut, drill, and saw concrete efficiently and safely.
  • Prepare construction sites by organizing materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
  • Remove debris and maintain cleanliness of the job site after project completion.
  • Assemble and dismantle barricades, scaffolding, and temporary structures.
  • Assist with demolition and site preparation activities.
  • Travel to various job locations as scheduled by dispatch.
  • Follow and enforce all safety guidelines, including OSHA, DOT, and Penhall standards.
  • Adhere to alcohol and drug-free workplace requirements.


Position Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in operating concrete cutting, drilling, and sawing equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
  • Knowledge of construction safety protocols and regulations.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in construction, demolition, or a related field preferred.
  • Certification in OSHA safety standards or willingness to obtain upon hire.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Tolerance for prolonged periods of standing and repetitive movements.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in loud, dusty, and all-weather conditions.
  • Adequate visual and auditory acuity to operate machinery safely.
