Human Resources Manager

Job Summary:

A respected full‑service law firm is recruiting for an experienced Human Resources Manager for its New Jersey office. This is a firmwide role with meaningful responsibility and visibility.

Why This Role:

This role offers the chance to partner closely with Firm leadership on all aspects of human resources. The Human Resources Manager will support firmwide HR initiatives, oversee daily operations, and play a key role in recruiting, employee relations, policy development, and compliance.

What You'll Do:

  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to HR policies, procedures, and practices
  • Manage recruiting, hiring, onboarding, development, and retention programs
  • Assess staffing needs and oversee non‑exempt administrative and clerical staff
  • Handle employee relations matters and assist with conflict resolution
  • Ensure compliance with leave policies and applicable state and federal regulations
  • Coordinate benefits administration, including 401(k)/profit‑sharing plans
  • Maintain and update job descriptions and position specifications
  • Assist with reporting, financial analysis, and integration of new attorneys

What They're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of progressive HR experience in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Law firm experience strongly preferred; SHRM‑CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR a plus
  • Strong understanding of HR compliance, employee relations, and staffing models
  • Excellent communication, judgment, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems
