Position Overview

As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the Catskill, NY area, you’ll deliver vital speech and language services that empower students’ communication skills and support their academic growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess & Diagnose: Conduct in-depth speech, language, and swallowing evaluations to identify individual student needs.

  • Plan & Implement: Design, carry out, and monitor IEP goal–driven therapy plans.

  • Therapy Delivery: Lead one-on-one and small-group sessions targeting articulation, fluency, language comprehension, expressive language, and social-pragmatic skills.

  • Collaborative Consultation: Partner with teachers, parents, and support staff to embed communication strategies into the classroom environment.

  • Progress Monitoring: Collect and analyze data on student performance; refine interventions to maximize results.

  • Team Participation: Actively engage in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary discussions to advocate for student needs.

  • Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate records and ensure all practices align with district policies and New York State regulations.


Job Details

  • Position Type: Contract, school-based role (option to extend into the 2025–2026 school year based on mutual interest)

  • Hours: Approximately 5–15 hours per week, flexible to district scheduling

  • Caseload: K–12 students, assignments tailored to district priorities


What You Bring

  • Credentials: Valid New York State SLP license (required); CCC-SLP preferred (Clinical Fellows considered)

  • Experience: Prior school-based or pediatric setting experience highly valued

  • Skills: Strong organizational abilities, collaborative mindset, and clear communication style

  • Authorization: U.S. work eligibility without sponsorship
