In-Process Quality Inspector
Location: St. Paul, MN
The quality in-process inspector job is responsible for making sure all parts meet customer blueprint requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read and interpret customer supplied blueprints.
- Competently check each part to the blueprint.
- Compile the data from the blueprint and record it onto the data collection document.
- Works with the production team to make sure that all parts are within tolerance throughout the production run.
- Adheres to our AS and ISO standards.
- This position is a forward-thinking position as well as a change agent always looking for ways to help our company evolve to the next level.
- This position is for in-process inspection on the production floor. Due to personal movement and changes the position may require work in other areas of inspection.
- Understand that we are a quality first company, and we must stop production if parts are nonconforming.
- Works closely with the quality manager and the Director of quality if need be. Cross departmental training.
- This position requires constant interaction with the production team, good communication skills are essential.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications
- Must be able to use and interpret data using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, Tesa hite, pin gauges, thread gauges, gauge blocks, etc.
- Basic experience with ISO and or AS standards.
- Blueprint reading certificate or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in stamping or fabricating.
Preferred Qualifications
- Metal Stamping industry experience a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and strong team leadership skills.
- AS9100D and ISO 13485 standard experience
- Experience using an MRP system
- Data collection skills.
