Sonder's innovative app empowers guests by making self-service features and 24/7 on-the-ground support just a tap away. From simple self check-in to boutique bathroom amenities, we bring the best of a hotel without any of the formality.

Sonder operates a wide range of properties ranging from single units to hundreds of units in a single building. We are looking for a cross-functional interior designer to support projects and bring together all facets of operations, architecture/design, tech, and real estate. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced and constantly shifting environment.

 AT SONDER YOU WILL:

  • Perform project management logistical and administrative duties to ensure that project work is handled in a timely, efficient, and effective manner.
  • Collaborate with the Design Manager to develop a design concept/mood and execution plan from the concept phase through openings.
  • Ensure all project designs meet Sonder brand standards.
  • Partner with the Standards team to identify and select products that meet brand standards.
  • Assist Development and Design Managers to plan, execute, and control projects.
  • Work closely with Merchandising, Sourcing and Procurement to generate and manage FF&E matrices and supply chain.
  • Monitor design execution during Openings to ensure the design concept is maintained through project installation.
  • Maintain regional databases and information flow, ensuring project information is communicated to key stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally with city teams, guest experience/operations, brand, tech/product, architecture/construction, legal, and real estate to see projects from concept to opening.
  • Prepare monthly project reports and consistently communicate project status to all relevant stakeholders on both HQ and city teams.

 WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Minimum 5 years in high-end Hospitality, Residential, Commercial and/or Retail Interior Design
  • Extremely organized and able to coordinate information and tasks for multiple projects.
  • Experience working with both technical (e.g., building IT, tech/product) and non-technical (e.g., operations, legal, interior design) teams.
  • Willingness to roll-up sleeves to dive into the details.
  • Passion for real estate development, hospitality, and design.
  • Great collaborator and communicator - excellent verbal and written skills are a must!
  • Self-starter; able to work independently without supervision
  • A perfectionist, obsessing over all the details
  • Travel as needed to visit properties, work with our city teams, and monitor project progress.
  • Proficient in the following programs: Google Suite, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, SKETCHUP, and Revit AutoCad
