We are looking for a full-time IT Operations Specialist1 for our headquarters in the greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for providing first level of support to end users and responds to their needs and/or alerts through basic troubleshooting, resolution or escalation steps. Other essential functions include:

  • Monitors and responds to critical alerts raised by monitoring systems by following documented procedures that instruct troubleshooting, resolution or escalation steps and performs basic troubleshooting

  • Follow procedures defined by run logs and monitoring systems

  • Facilitates incident management outage procedures, helping to ensure IT department resources have properly responded too and communicate about Sev 1 and Sev 2 outages.

  • Designs action plans for internal NOC process improvements based on recurring trends

  • Recommends and Implements proactive measures to prevent/minimize repeat problem occurrences, and follows-through on recommendations.

  • Notifies and facilitates communication with designated personnel in the event of hardware/operating system/software failure.

  • Maintains records of daily communication transactions, problems, remedial actions taken, and installation activities

  • Works effectively and professionally with other team members, learns from and shares knowledge with others by documenting and contributing to knowledge base


Qualified candidates possess a High School Diploma or GED and coursework towards completion of a technical degree OR a minimum of 2 years IT or technical experience. Other requirements include:

  • Demonstrates basic familiarity with troubleshooting and research tools

  • Demonstrates basic familiarity with asset, service, monitoring, and documentation tools

  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a small team setting

  • Must possess the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. to effectively perform the essential functions of this job description
