Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for an IT Software Engineer 5. The work will be done hybrid depending on the customer’s preference, with preferred locations in Chicago, IL or Peoria, IL. Additional locations include Dallas, TX and Broomfield, CO. This is a long-term 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $82/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking an experienced IT Software Engineer specializing in Google Analytics implementation and digital analytics engineering. This role will support enterprise-scale Google Analytics initiatives, including advanced GA4 implementations, Google Tag Manager configurations, troubleshooting, auditing, reporting enablement, and technical guidance for development teams. The engineer will collaborate closely with product management, development teams, analytics teams, and business stakeholders to improve digital marketing data quality, scalability, and overall analytics strategy. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly technical analytics implementation expert who enjoys solving complex web analytics challenges in a collaborative enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead advanced Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager implementation activities across enterprise web platforms
• Educate and guide development teams on best practices for high-quality Google Analytics data collection and implementation
• Support large-scale GA4 migration initiatives and implementation standardization efforts
• Configure and troubleshoot eCommerce events, data layers, enhanced measurement, DOM scraping, form tracking, and custom dimensions
• Provide guidance on campaign tagging, third-party tagging, and Google Analytics integrations
• Partner with analytics teams as a subject matter expert supporting dashboards, reporting, and analysis initiatives
• Perform audits, troubleshooting, and optimization of existing Google Analytics configurations
• Create scalable implementation documentation and technical standards for enterprise analytics environments
• Collaborate with product management, development, and analytics teams across global environments
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Statistics, Marketing, or related technical field
• 10+ years of experience in web analytics, digital analytics engineering, or software engineering environments
• 3+ years of hands-on Google Analytics implementation experience using Google Tag Manager
• Strong experience supporting enterprise-scale GA4 migrations and implementations
• Strong technical knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, browser functionality, and common web technologies
• Experience configuring eCommerce events, data layers, enhanced measurement, form tracking, search console integration, and custom dimensions
• Experience creating scalable Google Analytics implementation documentation and governance standards
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working within enterprise digital marketing or analytics environments
• Experience supporting global or multi-team web analytics implementations
• Familiarity with digital marketing platforms and campaign tracking methodologies
• Experience collaborating with product management and distributed development teams
• Strong understanding of browser behavior, tagging strategies, and analytics governance
• Experience working in Agile or product-focused development environments preferred
Work Environment
• Hybrid work environment with current expectation of 2 days onsite weekly; onsite presence may increase over time
• Preferred locations include Chicago, IL and Peoria, IL; additional hubs include Dallas, TX and Broomfield, CO
• Collaborative team environment working with U.S. and India-based teammates and development teams
• Occasional travel to Peoria office may be required (0–25%)
