The Food Service Worker reports to the Nutrition and Food Service Manager or Assistant Manager. This position involves up to 176 days (elementary) or 174 days (secondary), with working hours ranging from 3 to 7.5 hours, and is classified as non-exempt with pay grade FS01.
Qualifications include completing an accredited food handler's training within 30 days, strong English communication skills, basic math, ability to follow procedures, lift up to 40 pounds, and work various shifts and locations. A high school diploma or GED is preferred; a Texas driver’s license is required for some roles.
The primary purpose is to deliver quality, safe, and nutritious meals while providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities encompass food preparation, serving, operating kitchen equipment, adhering to safety and health policies, assisting with catering, maintaining cleanliness, performing cashier duties if assigned, and collaborating with staff.
