Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Neurobiology is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support neuroscience and stem cell research. Primary responsibilities include performing routine molecular biology techniques such as DNA cloning and PCR, maintaining mouse and human pluripotent stem cell cultures, and assisting with neuronal differentiation and brain organoid experiments. The incumbent will support tissue processing activities including fixation, embedding, cryostat sectioning, immunohistochemical staining, and sample archiving. Additional duties include assisting with viral vector preparation and use, flow cytometry and fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), fluorescence and confocal microscopy imaging, and preparation of organoid and cell culture samples for single-cell and single-nucleus sequencing studies. The ideal candidate will possess strong laboratory skills, attention to detail, and an interest in translational neuroscience research.
Hourly range: $26.23-$30.93
