The Level 3 Engineer is responsible for Level 3 technical support for MEO and GEO satellite services.  Conducts factory acceptance testing and bench testing of various types of SATCOM equipment. Responsible for support and Repair of MEO and GEO systems. This position requires on-call responsibilities and international travel when required.  



Experience / Qualifications


  • Associate’s Degree in Electronics/Communication or equivalent experience 
  • 4 to 8 years SATCOM field experience
  • Prior military SATCOMearth station or direct DOD support experience preferred
  • Minimum 2 years O3B MEO system knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of GEO antennas and systems
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple time-sensitive tasks in a demanding environment
  • Able to support/maintain relationships with customers.
  • Ability to understand customerrequirements and be able to provide services tosupport their mission
  • Ability to understand customer issues and interface with the customertofulfill our obligations to the customer
  • Knowledge and understanding of the satellite market, products, and developments
  • Ability to deal with exceptions professionally/efficiently using resources to solve customer issues
  • Upon hire or transfer - complete MEO certification classes
  • Ability to travel 30% domestically and internationally to customer sites to install, fix, or maintain SATCOM systems/sites


Essential Job Functions:


  • Responsible forLevel 3 Technical Support for both MEO and GEO SATCOM services
  • Provide 24/7 phone support for trouble ticket issue that require escalation for both MEO and GEO services
  • Provide field service support for GEO and MEO services when required or in support of SES-GS contractors.
  • Integration of MEO and GEO systems to ensure system effectiveness
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Testing of all SES-GS terminals
  • Bench tests all equipment new or upgraded prior to deploying to SES-GS field sites
  • Tests and verifiesreturned RMA equipment
  • Documents and distributes information related to services we are supporting
  • Performssite surveys and reviews site surveys, providing recommendations for installations
  • Supportsinstallations and implementations of all SES-GS MEO systems
  • Reviews “As Built” documentation of installed systems
  • Travels to customer locations and participates in the installation of GEO and MEO systems when deemed necessary
  • Participates in process improvement requests.
  • Represents SES-GS in telephone and face-to-face meetings with the customers  
  • Proactivelyanticipates scenarios (i.e., unavailability of satellite capacity) and acts (forewarning, updating) as required
  • Coordinates after-sales activities and customer service delivery
