Cascade Regional Blood Services has an opportunity for a full-time and a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with phlebotomy experience. The CRBS Donor Collections team is seeking a skilled and efficient medical professional to provide the best donor experience possible to our community of donors in their blood donation experience.

We have supplied blood to MultiCare Health System hospitals and health centers in Pierce, South King, and Grays Harbor Counties since 1946. Along with supplying blood and blood products to our community, we also perform specialty therapeutic procedures. We have donor collection center in Tacoma, Puyallup, Federal Way, Gig Harbor, as well as many mobile blood drives.
The LPN (Donor Specialist II/LPN) will perform all aspects of blood collection including automated collections, at all collection sites; draw blood for donations or research. The LPN will explain the procedure to donors and assist in the recovery of donors with adverse reactions.

The LPN (Donor Specialist II) is responsible for registering, donor history assessments, and drawing various components of blood collection. Professional communication and interaction with all our donors and CRBS team, accurate documentation, performing quality control, and monitoring our donors to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of all processes. The DSII must enjoy working as part of a team as CRBS can be a busy operation and we often multi-task and rely on good communication with our team members so show our donors a positive and seamless experience.
Essential Job Functions
- Greet and register donors for blood donation procedures, monitoring their comfort and answering their questions.
- Verifying donor demographics; ensuring paperwork is accurate and complete.
- Quality Assurance activities to ensure proper and smooth operation of machines, devices, and documentation.
- Check work email daily.
- Follow the HIPAA privacy and security policies and procedures.
- Perform other related work as required.
Licensed Practical Nurse with WA State license.
Minimum 1 year of recent, related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Phlebotomy experience including finger stick and venipuncture.
Superior customer service skills.
Ability to work effectively and professionally in a teamwork environment.
Excellent communicate skills to professionally communicate clearly and effectively with other medical facilities, Donors, and Team members.
Good organizational skills.
Working understanding of emails and ability to enter documentation into various instruments/database.
