Headway Hospitality, a division of Headway Workforce Solutions, is currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic Line/Grill Cooks for our client in the Belmont, NC area! As a Line/Grill Cook, you will prepare, portion, and cook food for service. You will also provide excellent customer service while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. This position can offer roughly 30-40 hours per week, and offers pay of $13.00 per hour. We are looking to start individuals immediately!

As a Line/Grill Cook, you will:

  • Set up serving line 15-minutes before opening, according to printed menu, promptly, to include food and utensils
  • Use storage equipment by stocking enough product in coolers and freezers before a meal to avoid running out
  • Cook food to order, anticipate service rushes to ensure speed of service
  • Accurately serve proper portions according to standards
  • Display thorough knowledge of all menu items and answer questions the customers may have
  • Complete a thorough cleaning of the work area and maintain clean equipment
  • Observe and practice all established health and sanitation procedures
  • Keep accurate portion and temperature records. Submit records to the location manager at the end of the meal
  • Ensure the proper rotation, labeling, and dating of all products

Requirements of a Line/Grill Cook:

  • Consent to a pre-employment background check
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • 6+ months of previous kitchen experience as a cook preferred in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Excellent communication with management and other team members
  • Ability to work well under pressure

Job Safety:

  • Cutting gloves when using any knife
  • Safety shoes

  • Washing your hands prior to and during your work shift
  • Use of gloves at all times
  • Be in complete uniform, shoes, name tag, chef coat, hat, and thermometer
