The Firebrand Hotel Restaurant, centrally located in downtown Whitefish, is seeking a Line-Cook to work with our food and beverage team. $20 p/h DOE.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION PURPOSE:

As a line cook you will be responsiblefor stocking and setting of the station. Preparing food items by cutting,chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. Cooking food items by grilling, sauteing, other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.

MAIN DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

Taking directions from supervisor and retaining information received.
Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients, cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks.
Plating prepared foods based on senior chef's guidance
Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time.
Ensure all equipment is kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant's preventative maintenance programs.
Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking equipment at the end of work shifts.
Fully understand and follow all regulations that pertain to health and safety.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLSAND ABILITY

Knowledge of Food and Beverage, Local and State Food Handling laws and procedures.
Must be organized and detailed oriented.
Must be a strong team player with a hospitality first mindset.
Desire to provide phenomenal guest experiences, a passion for quality, and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills with the ability to foster cooperation.
Ability to build strong relationships and work with a team of culinary professionals

QUALIFICATIONSTANDARDS

EDUCATION

Preference for a previous cooking experience

EXPERIENCE/LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

Minimum of 2 years experience in a restaurant or related field an asset.

SCHEDULE / HOLIDAYS/PTO:

The Linecooks are expected to normally keep a 5 day a week schedule, adjusted as needed(potentially more than 5 days) according to occupancy and business need, and beavailable for peak guest times and/or in the event of an emergency. A work weekof 50 hours per week can be expected, however it can be more or less dependingon the business needs of the Food and Beverage operation. Working evenings,weekends and holidays is required. The Linecooks will typically be available during peak seasons, typically taking PTO andvacations during slower seasons.
