Linux System Administrator

deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Linux System Administrator in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description:

deciBel Research is seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator to support the Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program.

Duties include:

• Supporting software containerization and orchestration activities
• Performing security scans and related security activities
• Implementing backup and restore solutions
• Implementing data storage solutions
• Performing scripting to support automation initiatives
• Providing support and maintenance on network, hardware, and firmware infrastructure

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline

Experience Requirements:

• 2 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree OR 0 years of experience with Master's degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with Systems Administration for Linux Operating Systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• Must have a DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security + CE)

Special Skills Desired:

• Experience with DevOps architecture such as Kubernetes, Nexus, Docker, GitLab, etc.
• Experience with security compliance and related security scanning products (ACAS)
• Experience in enterprise backup and restore solutions, storage area network (SAN), and network attached storage (NAS)
• Experience with scripting using tools such as Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, etc.
• Experience with network administration and related infrastructure
• Experience with hardware installation and maintenance to include firmware upgrades
• Demonstrated strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
