Additional Information: Butler County Special Education Interlocal is currently seeking a low Incidence secondary teacher for Circle High School in Towanda, KS.

The Self-Contained High School Special Education Teacher provides specially designed instruction to students with significant cognitive and adaptive needs in a functional learning classroom. The teacher focuses on functional academics, daily living skills, social-emotional development, and transition planning to prepare students for post-secondary employment, independent living, and community participation.

Essential Responsibilities: • Develop and implement IEPs aligned to functional academic, adaptive, and transition goals. • Provide instruction in functional reading, math, communication, daily living, and vocational skills. • Implement positive behavior supports and individualized behavior plans. • Collect data and monitor student progress toward IEP goals. • Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families. • Supervise and guide paraprofessionals within the classroom. • Support community-based instruction and transition activities as appropriate.

Qualifications: Kansas teaching license or willing to complete requirements for special ed waiver and licensure.
