IA-VV has an excellent opportunity for an LPHA (Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts) to work with our VRC-DMC program. The LPHA evaluates the client’s assessment and intake information, verifies assessment, and ensures a counselor completes intake information. Establishes/verifies that the client meets medical necessity criteria and makes a Substance Use Disorder Diagnosis based on the DSM. Identifies the level of care based on ASAM requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Document client admission and provider referral medical necessity.
- Conduct intake assessments.
- Document client health/psych/social history based on ASAM criteria.
- Prepare diagnosis and treatment planning progress notes.
- Assist in discharge planning.
- Conduct ASAM criteria interviews or ensure they are conducted by certified/registered alcohol and drug counselors and reviewed by an LPHA.
- Ensure staff performing ASAM criteria interviews complete ASAM e-training modules and provide evidence of completion to MHSUS.
- Assist clients in accessing needed medical, social/behavioral, educational, and other support services.
- Provide community-based case management activities to clients or the LAR on the client's behalf.
- Assist licensed staff in co-facilitating Group Psycho-social Skills Training for recipients, as assigned.
- Participate in staff training assignments, as requested.
- Assess, review, and monitor a recipient's status concerning rehabilitation.
- Submit accurate, legible, and complete client progress notes and participate in the agency's Performance Improvement initiative.
- Attend/conduct all training, company, and team meetings.
- Understand, acknowledge, and agree to adhere to Medicaid requirements.
- Acknowledge responsibility to participate in agency growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the COO or designee.
Qualifications:
- An individual who possesses any of the following licenses is considered a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA) and is automatically certified as a QMHP-CS:
- Physician Assistant.
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
- Psychologist.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (ASW/LCSW).
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT/LMFT).
- Licensed Professional Counselor (APC/LPC).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to bend and lift light objects.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while viewing a computer monitor.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard.
- Capable of hearing and speaking to exchange information.
- Ability to read reports and data.
- Ability to speak English.
- Must be able to work in a noisy, busy environment.
