This full-time position is for an Instructor in the Machinist Apprentice Program (MAP) at a national laboratory in Los Alamos, NM, focusing on training apprentices to become skilled Journeyman Machinists.
- Responsibilities include providing on-the-job training, mentoring first-year apprentices, and supporting program expansion to meet workforce needs.
- Must have proficiency in manual and CNC machining, dimensional inspection, GD&T, CAD/CAM, and safety practices.
- Experience with training record management, research, curriculum updates, and community outreach is essential.
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, Science, Math, or related field, with at least 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
- Preferred qualifications include knowledge of JobBoss, CAD/CAM software, and prior instructor experience in a certified program.
- Position involves onsite work, some travel for outreach, and requires a Q security clearance, U.S. citizenship, and passing a drug test.
