Job Summary:
- This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment within a regulated manufacturing environment. The position ensures equipment reliability, supports operational efficiency, and upholds safety and compliance standards across the facility.
Job Duties:
- Perform maintenance and repair activities in accordance with established safety protocols and workmanship standards.
- Ensure all production and facility equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems across a variety of processing and packaging equipment.
- Execute equipment setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting for automated systems including conveying, weighing, coding, and packaging machinery.
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment for preventative maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and repairs based on scheduled requirements.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems (110V–460V), including motors, control components, panels, and wiring.
- Interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation to support troubleshooting and repairs.
- Perform basic programming and diagnostics on variable frequency drives (VFDs) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Respond promptly to equipment failures to minimize downtime and support continuous operations.
- Verify equipment readiness prior to production start-up.
- Support facility upkeep to ensure compliance with applicable building, fire, and safety regulations.
- Assist in training and mentoring less experienced maintenance personnel.
- Fabricate or modify components and equipment as needed to support operations.
- Maintain compliance with food safety and quality standards within a regulated production environment.
- Communicate effectively across shifts and departments to ensure continuity of operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, supervision, and management.
- Support inventory control efforts for maintenance parts and supplies.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to follow instructions and document work clearly.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrates reliability, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance within a regulated manufacturing environment (food, beverage, or similar).
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to work flexible shifts as required by operational needs.
- Proficient in the safe use of hand and power tools.
