Mammography Tech - (Mam - Mammo Tech)
StartDate: 04/05/2021Available Shifts: 8 E Pay Rate: $1750.00 - 2050.00

Under general supervision, operates dedicated & specialized mammography radiographic equipment; formulates/calculates techniques & positions patients to produce diagnostic images of normal & abnormal human breast & associated tissue & related unusual changes for the use by physicians in making medical diagnoses. Within established/recognized scope of practice, uses independent judgement in critiquing radiographs & images, recognizing normal from abnormal tissue & taking additional required views such as magnification.Selects correct technical factors relative to the requirements of the study & the patient's age, body habitus & pathologyConsistently processes radiographic images properly, utilizing automated equipmentCritiques image & makes necessary adjustments in technical factors, patient positioning, etcDemonstrates knowledge of, & consistently uses, proper sterile techniques, and/or proper infection control technique.Conducts a patient interview to attain full understanding of procedure & ultimately obtaining consent of the patient.Assists w/ orientation & training of students & other Radiologic Technologists in all aspects of positioning, compression, exposure factors, film processing & quality assurance/control.Positions patients for mammography images: Accurately position patients including those w/ implants, taking into consideration body habitus & location of lesionUtilizes & selects precise positioning techniques involved w/ additional/special views such as magnification, compression relative to the patient's condition or findings seen on imagesMay perform other duties as required
