Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical evaluation and due diligence of BESS equipment for implementation in Invenergy’s energy storage development projects. Identify strategic suppliers and product offerings in order to best position Invenergy’s pipeline of energy storage projects.
  • Maintain technical relationships with key BESS equipment suppliers and endeavor to target, evaluate, and cultivate new relationships with strategic suppliers.
  • Regularly coordinate with BESS equipment suppliers to gather market intelligence as relates to upcoming technical product offerings. Translate technology roadmaps for internal use as relates to system design inputs and pricing exercises.
  • Collaborate with engineering procurement, project engineering, project estimating, construction, and operations teams to analyze procurement options and to assist in making equipment supply recommendations that best position Invenergy’s pipeline of energy storage projects.
  • Assist in the negotiation of supply agreements for BESS equipment. Ensure that product warranties, performance guarantees, and system design requirements are in line with prudent industry practices as well as all applicable project agreements including construction agreements, project sale agreements, and operations and maintenance (O&M) agreements.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of Request for Proposal packages as well as lead the technical evaluation of BESS equipment supply bids.
  • Establish and maintain internal technology and pricing database for BESS equipment based on continuous market research and continuous development of market knowledge and pricing/technology trends.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Five or more years of experience in the renewable energy industry, with a minimum of two years of experience in energy storage. Experience in procurement or strategic sourcing is a plus.
  • Detailed knowledge of BESS equipment and market-leading suppliers along with key energy storage technology trends. Understanding of energy markets as relates to storage is a plus.
  • Proven and influential verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated interest in renewable energy.
  • Domestic and International travel will be required.
