Material Handler/High Reach Operator
Service Wire Company, a premier supplier of industrial and utility wire and cable, is currently seeking a 1st shift Material Handler/High Reach Operator in Houston, TX. Position Summary:
The Material Handler/High Reach Operator is responsible for supporting warehouse operations by efficiently receiving, transporting, and organizing materials throughout the facility. This role ensures accurate inventory management, safe material handling, and the timely preparation of orders for shipment. Operating forklifts—including high reach trucks—is essential, along with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with company standards and safety protocols.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Process material cuts according to customer specifications and record distribution data
- Palletize and prepare orders for shipment using a stand-up, high-reach forklift
- Work to maintain inventory stock and an organized warehouse
- Transports wire and materials throughout facility on a forklift
- Maintain safety standards and organized work environment
Qualifications/Requirements
- High-reach forklift proficiency
- Basic math and measuring skills
- Ability to read, comprehend, and respond to general instructions and directions
- Ability to stand and move about facility for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds. Assistance provided as needed.
- Company forklift operation training and certification
- High school diploma/GED (General Equivalency Diploma) or one year related industrial experience or equivalent training
- Must be able to work in hot and cold environments without climate-control.
- In-person attendance is an essential function of the job
Shift Schedule and Information
This is a first shift position (6:30 am - 3:15 pm).
