is currently seeking a Material Handler for our client Northrop Grumman.
Job Description
The Material Handler will load, unload, and convey materials within the plant or work site, performing tasks including shipping, receiving, and managing inventory under specific direction. Duties include researching material status critical to production schedules, managing chemicals from delivery to disposal, ensuring adequate consumable supply levels, and conducting cost metrics analysis. This role requires coordinating with supply chain and engineering teams, creating status reports, developing functional manuals, and providing logistics support to floor personnel daily. The ideal candidate will manage inventory locations, track shelf-life materials, coordinate transportation, and evaluate processes for improvement while using forklifts and maintaining proper documentation.
Skills
• High school diploma or GED • 4 years of experience in logistics support, shipping, receiving, warehousing, or inventory control • Ability to obtain forklift certification • Ability to lift 25 lbs and walk/stand for extended periods • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, including sort, filter, conditional formatting, and formulas • Must be a U.S. Citizen • Active Secret clearance • Knowledge of Cognos CostPoint and advanced Excel formulas • Prior experience using forklifts, reach lifts, and pallet jacks • Experience with Costpoint MES • Hazmat or chemical handling experience • NGC manufacturing shop floor experience
