We are seeking a motivated Materials Science Researcher to join our High Performance Materials and Processing Development Department at our research laboratory.
- You will design and conduct experimental coating deposition trials for advanced materials, including nanocomposite, multilayered, and multifunctional systems, supporting industries such as aerospace, defense, and biomedical.
- Responsibilities include developing characterization procedures, preparing technical reports, mentoring staff, and operating vacuum deposition systems such as EBPVD and sputtering.
- Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering (Master’s preferred) with 5+ years of related experience in coating processes and characterization techniques.
Required skills encompass coating deposition, coatings characterization, vacuum systems, and understanding of ceramic and metallic composites. Preferred skills include advanced deposition techniques and security clearance.
The position is on-site in State College, PA, with a salary range of $109,300-$164,000, subject to geographic adjustment. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and pass a security investigation and drug screening.
