This position is for a Middle School Mathematics Teacher (grades 7-8) for the 2026-2027 school year, beginning August 24, 2026, at North Star Academy.
The teacher will foster academic and personal excellence, collaborate with team members, and participate in ongoing professional development. Responsibilities include planning lessons aligned with standards, using assessments to guide instruction, maintaining classroom order, implementing PBIS, differentiating instruction, managing records, and integrating technology. The role involves communicating with parents, participating in student planning meetings, and adhering to policies and regulations. The teacher will also support students' behavioral and academic needs, including accommodations for IEPs and 504 plans, and contribute to school committees and projects.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, valid Minnesota teaching license, and proficiency in technology and data analysis. The role requires good communication, reasoning skills, physical endurance, and emotional stability. The work environment is moderate noise, with occasional outdoor exposure.
