Job Overview: We are seeking a junior level Mechanical Engineer to join our Sustaining team, focusing on supporting current hydraulic cylinder product lines. This role partners with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations to deliver excellence in product development and support. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and ability to manage projects independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Analysis: Create and analyze custom hydraulic cylinder designs


  • Technical Documentation: Develop manufacturing drawings using CREO, ANSYS, and MathCad


  • Standards Implementation: Apply industry standards (ASTM, ASME, ANSI, ABS, DNV)


  • Risk Management: Create DFMEAs and test plans to mitigate design risks


  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams


  • Project Management: Lead continuous improvement initiatives and reliability testing


  • Documentation: Prepare engineering specifications, project reports, and design reviews



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field


  • 3 years' experience designing machined and welded components


  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and hydraulic systems


  • Experience with CAD and analysis tools (CREO preferred)


  • Ability to work without sponsorship


  • Project management experience


  • Excellent communication skills



Technical Expertise:

  • Hydraulic cylinder design principles


  • Material science in mechanical applications


  • Engineering fundamentals and analysis


  • Manufacturing processes for machined/welded components


  • Industry standards and specifications


  • CAD/CAM software proficiency


Additional Requirements:

  • Travel less than 10%


  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously


  • Strong problem-solving capabilities


  • Continuous improvement mindset


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite



Compensation & Benefits:

  • Starting Salary $72,000 - 90,000
