What You’ll Do:

  • Design, develop and release subsystem designs, component designs and mounting provisions for various devices.
  • Design subsystems and components related to hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, mechanisms, shock isolation to meet vehicle performance requirements including human factors, safety, environmental and mine blast requirements.
  • Conduct design, integration and analysis of mechanical components, mechanisms and shock attenuation systems for mounting devices.
  • Apply mechanics of materials, material selection, welding, and fabrication principles for mechanical components and complex welded brackets, mounting provisions.
  • Support various projects by doing analysis & design, drawing mark-ups, tolerance stacks and generating source data for engineering changes. writing material requests and shop work requests, tracking delivery and stock of parts, participation in integration reviews, fit checks, and writing reports.
  • Provide support to prototype and production vehicle build and follow-up, technical corrective action formulation, troubleshooting and redesign activities.
  • Present design concepts and program status to functional and program management

What You’ll Need:

  • BSME, BSMET, or other related technical disciplines preferred.
  • Be a self starter and highly motived. Experience with managing cross functional projects, leading complex tasks and working in a shop environment is strongly desired.
  • Have working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, mechanisms, shock isolation, design for mine blast resilience.
  • Have understanding of how to design, integrate, and analyze mechanical components and mechanisms and shock attenuation systems for mounting devices.
  • Have understanding of mechanics of materials, material selection, welding, and fabrication methods for mechanical components and complex welded structures.
  • Be experienced in working with teams and effective in communicating across many disciplines and functional organizations.
  • Be able to understand customer needs, formulate subsystem and component requirements, and meet expectations.
  • Have a mechanical engineering degree including emphasis on mechanics of materials, hydraulics and fluid mechanics.
  • Have strong mechanical design and analytical skills.
  • Be a creative thinker.
  • Have solid modeling experience with NX and Creo.
  • Have fluency with Teamcenter, Vis Mockup.
  • Be able to climb into military vehicles.
  • Have good technical writing skills.
  • Be able to travel and work overtime when required.
  • Be able to work in an office, shop, test lab, and production environment.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree combined with 5 + years of relevant work experience.
