Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

 

In accordance with the mission and philosophy of Dignity Health, the medical transcriptionist position is responsible for transcribing Radiology Department reports from a digital dictation system into a Radiology Information system. Reports are the professional interpretation of diagnostic Radiology exams, mammography, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and echocardiography. Duties may also include the creation of reports through a mammography reporting system utilizing a database program. Transcribing of forms from a written draft. Incumbents in this position shall comply with all applicable laws and rules including the Dignity Health Standards of Conduct and Dignity Health policies and procedures that apply to his/her job responsibilities, seek guidance when in doubt, promptly report any potential or suspected violation of Dignity Health Standards of Conduct, Dignity Health policy or procedure or applicable laws/regulations and when requested, assist Dignity Health personnel in investigating all allegations of violation. When called upon, the incumbent shall assist in risk evaluation and work collaboratively with facility/entity leaders to implement, monitor and mitigate risk corrective plans outlined by the Compliance program.

 

Minimum:

 

  • One year of working experience in general medical transcription. Radiology experience preferred.
  • This position requires graduation from high school or its equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a test involving the transcription of a radiology report at a minimum production of at least 24 lines per 15 minute test period with an error rate of 15% or less or demonstrate the ability to type accurately at a rate of 45 words per minute.
  • Must have training or experience with word processing programs and possess basic computer skills.

Preferred:

  • Advanced computer training preferred.

 

 

Qualifications:
