Description

The Metrology Technician works to ensure that equipment is qualified, maintained and calibrated properly and on schedule, complying with appropriate guidelines, specifications, and internal procedures by using appropriate calibration methods and techniques based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems, and accuracy and precision requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair duties on the facility and equipment, as assigned
  • Perform routine calibration/scheduled maintenance to ensure compliance of the equipment/system for its intended use is maintained and that manufacturing operational requirements are met
  • Identify out of tolerance conditions and performs corrective actions to return the device/environment back to within specification
  • Replace/repair/clean equipment and facility utilities as needed
  • Document and maintain records to meet quality standards and expectations
  • Complete facility documentation including calibration data sheets

Required Skills        

  • Must possess mechanical skills and basic knowledge of metrology
  • Understanding of Good Documentation Practices and ability to adhere to it
  • Knowledge of both calibration and maintenance of instrumentation on biotech manufacturing equipment
  • Good organizational, communication and time management skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Ability to adhere to gowning requirements when working in classified environments
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Calibration Procedures, and work instructions
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work as part of a team and individually

Must-Haves

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required
  • A.S. or B.S. in Metrology or Medical Equipment Technology preferred
  • At least one year of related experience required
  • Three years of related experience preferred

Work Hours/Shift

Monday-Friday – 8 am – 5 pm
