The Molecular Research Technician I assists with molecular biology experiments focused on characterizing multi-drug resistant organisms (MDROs), including nucleic acid isolation and next-generation sequencing.
Responsibilities include performing experiments under supervision, following protocols, maintaining safety standards, and documenting results.
Qualifications require an AS or BS in Biology, Microbiology, or Molecular Biology, with foundational experience in bacterial DNA extraction, sequencing platforms (Illumina, Oxford Nanopore), and real-time PCR.
Skills in laboratory techniques, data analysis, organization, teamwork, and physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds are essential.
Preferred candidates have 1-3 years of relevant experience outside academia.
Compensation ranges from $55k-$60k with full benefits.
