POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the administration of all non-destructive testing, including but not limited to RT, PT, MT & UT Methods. Responsible for generating statistics and maintaining all records associated with non-destructive testing. Responsible for participation in root cause analysis involving weld metal and base metal defects and discontinuities. Communicate with Regulatory Bodies, Customer Representatives and other agencies for compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


* Responsible for maintaining all statistics and reports generated as a result of non-destructive testing, and communicating the information to all required parties internally and externally.
* Maintain the highest level of safety awareness with respects to the use of either gamma or x-ray radiation in the manufacturing environment in accordance with Marinette Marine Corporation standard operating procedure, SNT-TC-1A, State of Wisconsin regulations, OSHA regulations, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Participate in audits as required to maintain all NDT practices, equipment and licensing.
* Schedule and monitor non-destructive testing from vendors required at MMC.
* Perform contract specification traces to contract requirements.
* Maintain qualifications related to all non-destructive testing methods, and continually update qualifications as deemed necessary by changing programs at MMC and changes to the regulatory guidelines.
* Administer non-destructive testing and training for other MMC employees as necessary.
* Responsible for participation in root cause analysis involving weld metal and base metal defects and discontinuities.
* Monitor NDT certifications of personnel to ensure no lapse occurs. Coordinate/Schedule required updates and document in permanent records and databases.
* Development of NDT procedures and submitting for review/approval.
* Review/Audit Supplier NDT program to ensure compliance to contract requirements.
* Participate in welder program review to ensure compliance to contract requirements.
* Conduct Welder Workmanship training as related to Structure and Pipe of FMM new hires and contractors.
* Perform NDT and welder workmanship surveillances to ensure procedural compliance.
* Assist in receipt inspection of parts and material to determine compliance per specs and procedures as required.
* Responsible for issuing corrective action requests to all business units and personnel. Responsible for evaluating corrective measures for implementation and effectiveness. Evaluate requests for corrective action from all personnel, interpret internal audit results, consider management review output, and issue corrective action to business units and personnel accordingly. Administer internal audit activities to evaluate the effectiveness of corrective measures.
* Responsible for conducting and documentation of internal audits and reporting finds to Supervision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


* Associate degree from an accredited junior or technical college in a related field, or a minimum of 5 years' experience in related field. Ability to achieve Level II Qualification for non-destructive testing and interpretation in the RT, PT, UT and MT methods in accordance with ASNT, SNT-TC-1A.
