This role supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which is responsible for ensuring the safety of 45,000 flights and 3 million passengers traversing over 28 million miles of U.S. controlled airspace every day. A critical part of that mission is to support technical network systems which connect air traffic information across the FAA's National Airspace System and with other government agencies.

Position Functions & Skills:
- Plan, design, and evaluate new and existing computer network systems and services, with a focus on cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Manage enterprise-level IP networks, including LAN, WAN, and WLAN design and implementation, ensuring compliance with NIST 800-53 and 800-171 standards.
- Apply routing and switch design principles to optimize network performance while addressing NIST requirements.
- Design, implement, manage, and support enterprise-level IP networks to meet FAA's operational requirements, incorporating cybersecurity frameworks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and address network infrastructure needs while considering cybersecurity implications.
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, NIST standards, and other cybersecurity requirements in network design and implementation.
Requirements
Required Education, Skills & Capabilities:
- B.S. in an engineering, information systems, or related discipline (Cisco Certified Network Professional, plus 5 additional years of experience could be substituted for a bachelor's degree)
- Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience related to the position
- Active secret security clearance (preferred)
- Willing to relocate within 30 days of offer acceptance
- Expertise in drafting, reviewing, and interpreting NIST documentation
- Knowledge of network security protocols and technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills
- Experience conducting research for technical systems
Preferred Education, Skills & Capabilities:
- Operational air traffic control or aviation experience
- Cybersecurity expertise
- Software or database development expertise
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required. Master’s degree in Accounting or an MBA with an Accounting specialization is preferred. 15+ years of experience in business, finance, law, contracts, economics, industrial management, quantitative methods, or organization and management. Demonstrated experience in financial management, compliance, and advanced analysis. Proficiency in FAA financial tools such as Delphi (accounting system) and PRISM (credit card tracking system) Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills. High levels of integrity and trustworthiness, with experience handling sensitive information. Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance, if not already held. This process requires U.S. citizenship or specific legal authorization to work in the U.S. and meet federal eligibility requirements.
