If you are looking for some of the best scenery in the country, we got it! The Snake River Canyon will be a moments' drive away from the station. You'll be able to see the Snake River winding for miles about 500 feet below you while you are on break. If you time it out right, you might even see some BASE jumpers jumping off of the Perrine Bridge! On those hot summer days when you need to cool off, go get your kayak or paddle board and traverse up-and-down the river, or take a dip in Dierkes Lake. Less than 3/4 of a mile away from Dierkes Lake, is Shoshone Falls which is taller than Niagara Falls. Balanced Rock can also make for some fantastic photo-ops when the sun is setting.

Job Summary:

KMVT is looking for a meteorologist/multimedia reporter. This is dual role position that includes producing and anchoring weekend weathercasts, special weather programs and webcasts, contributing to the station website, and serving as a multimedia reporter for science-related news coverage. We are looking for someone who embraces both of these unique roles. Our three-person weather team takes weather seriously. We want to tell the story with interesting video, hyper local graphics, and an emphasis on viewer needs. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: We report news on every platform available to our viewers. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to report, shoot video, edit video, post web stories/pictures/video from both the field and television station. Successful candidates will also have the ability to deliver compelling stories. You’ll use the latest technology, including lightweight next generation video equipment and laptop editing. Duties of this job include live reporting, creative shooting, writing, editing and posting of news stories, both hard news and features. Must have good writing skills and must be able to work well under strict deadline pressure. The successful candidate will have experience forecasting and presenting weathercasts. A degree in meteorology, climatology, or atmospheric science is required along with skills in the operation of computerized weather presentation systems, especially WSI.

• Bachelor's degree in meteorology or related field.
