Non-Profit, Development and Philanthropy Leader Remote

Founded in 1989, our client is an industry sector focused nonprofit dedicated to achieving workforce and community social responsibility goals through STEM education programming, employee engagement and the promotion of volunteerism.

Our client is seeking a Development leader to achieve their ambitious fundraising efforts. You will work with the Board of Trustees, Executive Director, and other staff to build a robust and sustainable resource base to support current and future operations as well as community programs tied to STEM and chemistry education. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will be responsible for designing and implementing primary fundraising activities, including its vibrant corporate partners program, individual giving, foundation support and special events.

This is a is a remote position located in Houston, TX, and our client will expect you to have strong connections to and demonstrated fundraising success working with chemical and chemical-related industries.

Responsibilities:

Formulate and execute strategic and operating plans for development to secure annual commitments and multi-year strategic partnerships to meet the organizations revenue requirements.

Solidify, expand, and diversify existing strong donor base and network of supporters to secure ongoing funding from corporate, foundation and individual donors through direct solicitation and by staffing the Executive Director and Board of Trustees as required.

Co-develop production of proposals and other development outreach collateral to cultivate new prospects or support the goals of existing funders with program and communications staff.

Oversee and manage stewardship activities; meet all compliance requirements (grant, partnership, etc.) through timely, accurate and regular reporting (both narrative and financial).

Manage and oversee donor database, donor mailing lists, online giving vehicles and state fundraising registrations.

Track and analyze monthly contributions report to assure budget adherence; and work with Executive Director and Senior staff to develop and manage annual budget.

Act as staff liaison to the Board of Trustees Fund Development Committee and Nominating Committee, working to plan and communicate donor strategies and implement key changes to the fundraising plan with the full Board of Trustees.

Support the Board of Trustees/Board committees by presenting on development activities, preparing development collateral, staffing development meetings and other events.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of the chemical and chemical-related industries is highly preferred.

Contacts and knowledge of major donors, grant-makers and philanthropic trends in corporate social responsibility (CSR), STEM and /or education.

5-7 years of experience in nonprofit development and/or related CSR experience with a proven revenue generation track record.

Experience leading, developing and implementing fundraising strategies that build donor loyalty and attract prospective donors across all revenue channels.

Strong experience managing and developing budgets.

Excellent communication skills, including writing and speaking.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate effectively to senior professionals.

Must be able to juggle multiple projects, prioritize activities and meet deadlines.

Bachelors degree (required) or related industry experience.

Ability to travel 25% (required).
